PROTECTING AGAINST VIRUS
In one of our previous posts we discussed on how to protect our computers and how to save money when buying computer and if you could still remember, we discussed how remove virus manually from our computer.
Today I shall be leading the class and show you ways to protecting against virus and ways to secure our datas from being affected by viruses.

WHAT ARE VIRUSES:
VIRUS is a computer program that is planted in one computer and then transferred, hidden in useful information to one or more other computers with the intention of corrupting or wiping out information in the recipients computer. In the other words, virus is a written code by a computer programmer written with the aim of getting information or corrupt other’s computer intentionally.
Viruses are extremely common, many different types of viruses exist, ranging from ones that prevent you from opening up word-processed documents through to ones that destroy the entire contents of a hard drive. Viruses can be caught in several ways for example
• BY EXCHANGING FLOPPY DISKS, FLASH DRIVES, BLUETOOTH.
• VIA ELECTRONIC MAIL
• DOWNLOADING DOCUMENTS FROM THE WEB: Even the recent studies have it that downloading from the web pages is the fastest means of getting affected by viruses .
HOW VIRUS SPREAD:
It is observed that there must be something that is anchoring the fast spread of virus and after all the studies and researches we see it that make it faster than anything else, with this it much easier for viruses to move around, once a virus gets into organisation’s computer system it can spread very quickly .
How to protecting against virus:
New viruses appear daily, so it is essential that users have up-to-date anti-virus software to combat this problem.
If users have software that is unlicensed it could mean that, it is ‘pirated’ software and thereby causing virus to enter your computer easily.
To combat the virus we must do the following:
USE UP-TO-DATE ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE: If you are using activated or genuine windows you can use MICROSOFT ESSENTIAL, KAPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY, NORTON INTERNET SECURITY or search for more about anti-virus software.
SCAN BEFORE DOWNLOADING: It is very important that users of internet have to be scanning their downloading before the process started.
